=== Final Illness === In 1900, after a three-week illness with typhoid fever, Ira Allen died at the age of 86, survived by his second and third wives, Keziah and Cynthia, and his many children. Keziah moved back into the family home and lived with Cynthia until Keziah's death in 1901. Cynthia remained in the family home until her death in 1913.
