I began research on Samuel Knight, an Indian interpreter and southern Utah militiaman, in 1999. By 2001, I had expanded my research into the other militiamen from the Iron Military District who were involved at the massacre at Mountain Meadows. In 2006, Erik Briggs and I started the site, the 1857 Iron County Militia Project, to share information on the involved militiamen and facilitate an exchange of information with others. In June 2011, Erik Briggs and I started the current wiki site: the 1857 Iron County Militia Project. Thank you for visiting. We welcome your comments.
